Treatment sessions are typically 45-60 minutes and the frequency of these sessions depends on the needs of the child and their family. Caregivers/parents are always involved in treatment in some manner. The extent of caregiver/parent involvement depends upon the presenting concern, goals of the family, and child goals.
Dr. Sara Mahan provides Treatment, Consultation, and Parent Training services for the following type of concerns:
- Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Concerns such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Developmental Delays, ADHD, and Learning Differences.
- Social-Emotional Disorders and Concerns such as Anxiety, Selective Mutism, Stress, Adjustment, or general emotional dysregulation and emotion/behavioral management concerns.
- Other concerns such as Oppositional Defiance, and specific behavioral difficulties of tantrums, aggression, self-injury, noncompliance, defiance, and stereotypic behavior, among others.
- Other: toileting consultations
